Alyssa

My name is Alyssa and I have been working as a veterinary assistant here at Westland Veterinary Hospital since summer of 2012. This is my first job in the veterinary field and I love being able to help animals that can’t help themselves. I love the staff here and find my job very rewarding. I currently attend Schoolcraft College and plan on transferring to a university soon. I am an only child and my hobbies are reading and bowling. I love Pomeranians. I have a blue merle Pomeranian named Frankie. His birthday is November 19th 2012. He is very smart and knows a lot of tricks (his ‘sit pretty’ is the cutest thing in the world). I also have 2 other poms, a red one and an orange one, along with a black Persian cat named Kitty.

Samantha

Hello! My name is Samantha. I am a veterinary assistant and have been working here since January 2012. This is my first job in the animal field and I love seeing all the cute puppies that come in. I also enjoy being a part of helping pets and making them feel better. I have a chow/shepherd mix named Bandit. He has a purple tongue and won’t let me get a kitten even though I really want one. I enjoy music and traveling. I am studying biology and chemistry at Eastern Michigan University. My family consists of my mom and dad and my older brother, Timmy. My favorite animals are dogs and dolphins.

Jennifer

My name is Jennifer and I have been a receptionist here at WVH since 2010. My favorite part of working here is building relationships with our patients as well as their owners. I have 2 Akitas named Sweetie and Toby, 3 cats named Charlie, Tom and Abby, and 2 parakeets. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, golfing, planting flowers, and enjoying time out on the lake.

Meghan

Hello, my name is Meghan. I am a veterinary receptionist here at Westland Veterinary Hospital and I have been working here since September 2011. My experiences working here in the vet field began 5 years ago and I enjoy what I do. Being able to work with animals makes me happy. I am a resident of Westland and live here with my 8 year old daughter and 3 pets. My furry kids consist of one dog and two cats. Sandy is our Pitbull Terrier mix, Kit and Kaboodle are our sister kitties. Family is very important to me and they all live in the surrounding areas so we try to spend as much time together as possible. When I’m not working I try to keep busy and spend quality time with my daughter. Her outside activities keep us going. My favorite part of working here is the love for animals that continues to grow and the compassion for another’s pet. I also enjoy all of the learning opportunities this field has to offer. My favorite animals are marine mammals, most specifically dolphins and seals. I hope to one day be able to work closer with them and experience a whole new side of veterinary medicine.

I have had lots of fur kids in my life, but 2 kitties currently reside with me and their names are Stalker and Alex. Honey

This is Honey, our sassy clinic cat! She has been living with us since 2011. She usually hangs out on her princess bed in the back treatment area, but will sometimes waddle up front to say hello to everyone (and to raid the treat bowl). She loves cat nip, sitting on laps and eating.
